Zachary Stephen Ryan was born on June 1, 1991 to David and Mona Ryan in Salem, Oregon. From the moment Zach was born he never knew a stranger. Zach’s friendly and welcoming personality captured many people he met throughout his entire life. He attended both Englewood Elementary and Parrish Middle School and graduated from North Salem High School in 2010. During high school Zach was incredibly active with football, wrestling, track and band. He was a natural drummer and had an outstanding gift for music. During his youth he was also active at People’s Church where he participated in their youth ministry programs. After high school he worked for Fred Meyer, Spring Valley Dairy, Treeline and most recently Cascade School District doing general maintenance. This was the perfect job for Zach as he would and could fix anything. If it was broken, you could be sure that Zach could fix it. Throughout his entire life he loved anything and everything that had an engine. Whether it was cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. working on engines was his passion. His best days were probably the ones with a wrench in his hand. He also enjoyed working with car stereos, snow mobiles, riding 4 wheelers and even tried his hand at surfing. Zach was always ready to experience life and create an adventure. Almost six years ago he met the love of his life Katie Bethel. He would often say Katie was his “rock”, kept him in line and was truly his best friend. They married on August 8, 2015 in front of friends, family and many “new friends” Zach would meet up until their wedding date. Again, once you met Zach you were a friend and treated like family. Besides, Zach’s friendly nature, he had an amazing laugh and wonderful sense of humor, he could also be a prankster. But most of all Zach will be remembered for his incredible smile with dimples that no one will ever forget. He lived life fast, wild and always on the go, but he also lived his life centered in Christ, with kindness and love for his family. Zach was an incredible father and loved his son Kayden very much. Zach passed away on June 12, 2018 in Turner, Oregon . No words can comprehend this incredible loss and many hearts are broken. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 30th at 2pm in the Cascade High School. To honor Zach’s memory his family requests that you dress casual, comfortably and colorful. Also, if you have a classic car, big truck or show car please drive it to the service. Zach is survived by his wife, Katie Ryan; son, Kayden Ryan; parents, David and Mona Ryan; in laws, Dennis and Cindy Bethel; sister, Brenna (Justin) Amaya; brother in law, Lee Bethel; nephews and nieces, Ryder, Jordyn, Bayleigh and Lukys.
