Willis F. Hults Oct. 9, 1921 April 10, 2010 Stayton, Oregon Willis F. Hults was born in Brownsville, Oregon on the 9th day of October, 1921. He passed away on Sat. the 10th at Salem. He was 88, and the son of Earl and Florence Hults. Willis served in the US Army during WWII. He was married to Veronica Brown on June 7, 1942 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salem and they made their home in Salem before moving to Bremerton, Washington where they had their son, Michael Hults who later died in 1970. Later they moved back to Salem for about three years until they moved to Heider, Alaska for nine years. In 1950 they returned to Oregon and together built their home on the Oregon Coast where they lived for 35 yrs. In late March of 2005, they moved to Stayton to be closer to their grandchildren. Veronica preceded him in death on Nov. 26, 2005. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time with his family and spent every free moment hunting and fishing. He had worked as a home builder in Salem and retired from the Oregon State Parks having worked from 1970-1985, he last served as park manager at Beverly Beach. He is survived by his granddaughters, Theresa (Paul) Sturges of Salem, Trina (Mike) McGarry of Battleground, WA; sister, Doris Alvord of Sheridan; great grandchildren, Michael and Jeremy Meyers, Savannah Barnes; and great great grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan and Blake Meyers, Elizabeth and Wyatt Barnes. Rosary will be held Tuesday, April 20th at 7:00 pm at Weddle Funeral Chapel, Stayton, OR. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, April 21st at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Stayton, Oregon. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Stayton, Oregon.
