William Henry Bowman, lovingly known as Bill, passed away on November 24, 2023, in Stayton, Oregon, marking the end of an extraordinary life journey that began on June 13, 1944, in Salem, Oregon. Born to the late Margaret Kihs and the late Walter Bowman, Bill was a cherished member of his community and an adored figure within his family.
Bill leaves behind a legacy woven with love and dedication. His memory lives on through his children: Roseann and Gavino, Lisa and Jose, and Billy and Monica. He was the adored grandfather of Shawn, Tannah, Nick, Miguel, Aaron, Christina, Katrina, Carlos, Carisma, Rosalina, Daniel, and Bianca. His 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren were the light of his later years.
Throughout his life, Bill exemplified resilience and dedication. He devoted his professional career to serving the State of Oregon as an Inspector of Agriculture, leaving an indelible mark of commitment and diligence.
Bill was a man of camaraderie and loyalty, as evidenced by his almost half-century membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles. His presence within this community was steadfast, a testament to his unwavering friendships and support.
Outside his professional and fraternal commitments, Bill found joy in life's simple pleasures. He relished bowling, found solace in fishing trips, and discovered peace amidst nature during camping adventures.
His lively spirit found entertainment and camaraderie at Spirit Mountain Casino, where he made memories that will be cherished by those who knew him.
Bill's journey was not without loss, as he was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janis, four sisters, and three brothers. However, his surviving sister, Nina, carries forward his memory alongside numerous relatives and friends.
A celebration of Bill's life will take place at the Keizer Eagles,
4090 Cherry Ave NE, at 12 PM on December 10, 2023. All who knew and cherished Bill are invited to attend, bringing with them their favorite dishes and fondest memories to honor his legacy.
