Ward Newman

Ward Newman, 86 passed away in Albany, Oregon on January 13, 2021 from natural causes. Ward was born on July 19, 1934 in Lost Creek, Washington to Morgan and “Jane” Pernita (Jones). He graduated high school in Ione, Washington, met and married the love of his life Claudia (Johnson). They would move to Bandon, Oregon and raised a family. He was a master mechanic by trade and was part owner of Gold Coast Tire and Equipment Company in Coos Bay through the 70’s and 80’s. Then he moved to Montana to work for Kasanka Lumber until retirement where he moved to Delta Junction, Alaska. Ward was social and spent most of his time helping others, hunting, reading, watching boxing and sports on TV. Ward was from a large family of 12 children (8 boys and 4 girls). He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia in 2003. He is survived by his twin brother, Willard; children, Laurie Robinson, Pernita “Lynn” Humbard, Lisa Newman, Gary Newman; in addition to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. No services are planned.
