Vivian Marie Smith

VIVIAN  MARIE  SMITH Dec. 10, 1928 – Nov. 22, 2011 Salem, Oregon Vivian Marie Smith was born in Klamath Falls on Dec. 10, 1928.  She passed away on November 22, 2011 in Salem.  She was 82 years of age.  The daughter of James and Esther LaDieu. Vivian was married to Ken E. Smith Jr. on May 4, 1957 in Reno, Nevada and they made their home in Bend before moving to Salem. Vivian and Ken Jr. had owned and operated a liquor store and café for many years.  She had also served as a Lieutenant  in the civil service for Airforce ground observer corps. She is survived by her husband, Ken Jr. of Salem; daughters, Starla (Dave) Henslee of Salem, Vicki (Jim) Hays of Lakeport, CA; brother, James LaDieu of Clear Lake, CA; sisters, Edna Stoddard of Mount Rose, CO, Alice Hammack of McKinleyville, CA; 5 grandchildren, David Henslee, Michael and Nicole Tonelli, Jordan and Jennifer Hays; and great grandchildren, Jessica, Chelsey, Cayden, Nickolas, Nicolette and Amiya.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kollette Tonelli in 1998. Memorial  service was held at Weddle Funeral Chapel in Stayton, with interment following at Lone Oak Cemetery in Stayton. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, OR.
