Violet Shirley Priddy

Violet was born on February 15, 1936, in Stayton, Oregon to Charles and Reva (Porter) Sims. She grew up in Stayton where she attended Stayton Grade School. She would later live in Aumsville, Turner and Salem. Throughout her life, Violet was mostly a homemaker but in the 60’s and 70’s she worked as a cook at Haven Acres which was a residential care home in South Salem. Violet was also faithful and attended both Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness. Besides work, she enjoyed gardening, painting seascapes and was always interested by local history and family genealogy. Violet passed away on October 24, 2021, in Salem Oregon at age 85. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 siblings and children, Johnnie and Kenneth. Violet is survived by her children Clifford, James, Jerilyne and Rebecca; 8 grandchildren and 4 siblings in addition to extended family and friends.
