Heaven gained another angel when Violet Rose Anderson, 94, of Mill City, Oregon ascended to our heavenly father. Born in Grafton, North Dakota on May 20th, 1927 to Charles F. Belter and Anne (Halverson) Belter. Violet would grow up on a family farm and would graduate from Grafton High School in 1945. She was incredibly smart and earned a scholarship to become a nurse. However, due to the war, decided to give the scholarship to a friend and began to work at Northwestern Bell as a switch board operator.  Violet would marry Harold L. Anderson who was a neighbor she grew up with just a country block away. Harold enlisted in the Army Air Corps when the war started. He became the love of Violet’s life, and they would marry on May 12,1946 once he returned home from serving in the Pacific Campaign during WWII, eventually he would re-enlist into the United States Airforce.  Harold would continue his military career and Violet became an military wife and mom, taking their family to live overseas and all over stateside. Eventually, the entire family would settle in New Hampshire in 1962. They bought and operated a Restaurant called, Honey Bee Lunch until 1971. Violet and Harold were also charter members of the Lost Dutchmen’s Mining Association and enjoyed taking trips to gold pan.  Eventually, they decided to move to California to be closer to family. She and Harold resided there until his death 1994. Violet then moved to Mill City to live with her daughter, Juanita in January of 2002 where she received exceptional love and care. Violet enjoyed growing a garden, peonies and roses were her favorite flowers. She also loved to crochet and avidly read historical romance novels. Violet enjoyed relaxing by putting together 1000-piece puzzles in just a few days.  Violet passed away peacefully at age 94 on June 21, 2021, she will be remembered as feisty, quirky and sassy. But most of all, a strong and loving matriarch who leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her family.  She is survived by her daughter, Juanita (Bill) Anderson-Gallarza; son, Rondell Anderson and his friend Rosalee of Dover,NH; brother, Earl Belter; sister, Linda Barta of Arizona; granddaughters, Kristin Wills, Jessica Wills, Megan Phillips; grandson, Derek Anderson; Great Granddaughters, Amanda, Cassandra , Hannah, Samantha de los Santos, and great grandsons Deven  and Jake. Her many great-great grandkids.  Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 10 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in Weddle Funeral Service followed by a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery in Gates, Oregon at 11:30 A.M.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Willamette Valley Hospice.
