We regretfully announce the passing of Vicki Gomoll of Salem, OR on January 02, 2023.

My wife, Vicki, was one of the kindest and caring women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family.

Vicki and I were sweethearts from the very beginning. We were married in 1988 and spent thirty-four wonderful years together. Vicki through her unwavering support made my military career highly successful by taking care of the home front and providing for our other ventures, Thoroughbred racehorses to name a few.

In our first year of marriage, I had to go off to military schooling and Vicki had to take our two-year-old horses to Grants Pass, OR. Not much of a big deal unless you can picture a 100-pound lady who had no experience with horses, let alone racehorses, being dropped off at a racecourse on her own with just guidance on how to do things. In two months on her own she won the Grants Pass Futurity. This was just one of the things that showed how big her heart was and what she would do for our family.

After a few years, Vicki and I were blessed by finding out that I had a son, Matt. Matt enabled us to have a bigger loving family. But Vicki still had a void in her heart. She was unable to have a child to nurture from a baby. She was able to find us a surrogate mother and in 2005 that void was filled with our precious daughter Naomi. Vicki and I are unable to put into words how grateful we are to Angie who provided this gift to us. Between Matt and Naomi, Vicki was finally at peace with having children to love.

Vicki had a love for horses but was never able to have one to ride. She finally talked us into getting some horses so that our family could spend time during the summers riding on horse trails throughout Oregon. Her favorite spot was the Gates Horse camp where we could take the RV and horses and spend several days riding through the mountains and camping in the forest. I can still see her smiles as she rode the trails with Naomi and I.

Vicki was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

She is survived by Carl, Matt, Naomi, her mother Ferne, her brothers Doug, Tim, Mike, and her sister Rhonda.

Services will be held on January 20th, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Weddle Funeral Service located at 1777 N 3rd Ave, Stayton, OR 97383
