Vernon Wendell Brown

Vernon Wendell Brown 1939-2011 Salem, Oregon Vernon Wendell Brown went to be with the Lord Jesus on Sunday, June 5, 2011. Born on May 22 in Wright City, Oklahoma, Vernon was the third child of Sybil and William O. Brown. A teacher and administrator, he taught and served as a principal in schools in California and Oregon. Vernon was married to Pauline Elizabeth (Schiewek) Brown, and together they pastored several Southern Baptist congregations in Oregon and California, in addition to teaching. He is survived by his two children, Douglas of Thousand Oaks, California, and Krystyn of Virginia Beach, Virginia, He is also survived by his sister Juanda Phillips of Salem, and brother Clinton of St. Louis, Missouri.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Pauline. Vernon was a member of Capital Baptist Church in Salem, and a memorial service will be held there in July.  A graveside service will be held at Fox Valley cemetery in Lyons at 1:30pm on Thursday, June 7, 2011.
