Velda Mae Jirges

Velda Mae Fox DeCamp Jirges was born April 4, 1926, in Camas, Washington to parents Delna Elizabeth Little and Bert Herman Fox. Velda would grow up in Camas and attend Camas High School, graduating in 1945. Eventually Velda would meet her first husband James Henry DeCamp, they were together until his passing on 10/31/1976. Velda would meet her second Husband Laudie Jirges and remain together until his passing 07/16/2003. Over the past many years, she enjoyed her friends at TOPS, swimming with her community friends at Sundial Mobile Home Park, lunching with friends, and visits with her family that live in the Salem area. She was very much a social butterfly and loving mother till the very end. Velda is preceded in death by spouses James DeCamp and Laudie Jirges, and granddaughter Shelley Beattie. She is survived by her children Laura (Bud) Mitchell, Jackie (Randy) Blood, Mark (Anna) DeCamp, David (Connie) DeCamp, Greg (Laura Lee) DeCamp, and sister Linda Pevey. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Velda was a loving woman and will be missed by all who knew her.
