Travis Leo Carpenter was born on March 25th, 1982, in Salem OR, to Kurt and Carol Carpenter. Travis lived most of his life in the Willamette Valley, and graduated from Stayton High School in 2000. After graduating from high school Travis decided to join his father in the plumbing business and attended the four-year Plumbing Apprenticeship program at Chemeketa Community College; culminating in his Oregon State Journeyman's license. Travis has since worked with his father in the operation of Carpenters Plumbing. For the last five years Travis has served on the Area II Plumbing Apprenticeship board helping future Plumbing Apprentices. Travis’s best days were often spent in the outdoors enjoying Hiking, fishing, camping, backpacking, and motorcycle riding. Often his pit bull Jace would join him on these outdoor adventures. Travis’s true Passion, and where he could always find true solace, was on his bike. Travis was an avid downhill biker. He raced for two seasons, but mostly rode for fun with special friends. He was a member of the Black Rock Mountain Bike Association and would volunteer his time building, and maintaining mountain bike trails for the club, and others to enjoy riding on. On August 30th, 2018, at the age of 36, Travis passed away at his home in Lyons, Oregon. Travis was preceded in death by his Grandparents Ray and Donna Hopper, and Leo Carpenter. He is survived by his parents Kurt and Carol Carpenter, his sister Heather, many biking friends, and his beloved dog Jace. Service details to soon follow
