Timothy Paul McGowan, 51, of Stayton, Oregon peacefully passed on November 8, 2016, as a result of complications from an infection. He was born April 28, 1965, in Portland, Oregon to Robert and Dolores (Purnell) McGowan. He attended Pope John XXIII in North Portland and graduated from Central Catholic High School. Tim started a promising career at the Steinfeld’s Pickle Factory, but after an unfortunate pickle accident, Tim found his passion in the bearing industry. He started his Sales career at McGuire Bearing Corp. in Portland, Oregon where he worked for several years. In 1993 Tim married his best friend Janice Birkholz at the Old Church in downtown Portland. Tim, with his wife and kids moved to Stayton, Oregon in 1998 where he later accepted a position at Mill Supply Corp. in Salem, Oregon, followed by Motion Industries and most recently Applied Industrial Technologies in Albany, Oregon. Tim enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, music, sports and spending time with family and friends. You could always depend on Tim for a prank or a good laugh. Tim loved his family and friends endlessly and was proud to be the baby of the McGowan family and Mommas boy. His greatest joy was being Papa Tim to his granddaughter. Tim is survived by his wife Janice Birkholz McGowan; children Chris Kintz, Britnee Kintz, Meagan Kintz Newton; granddaughter Morgan Clary; brothers Terry and Mike McGowan; sisters Patti Lassell and Kathleen Frutiger; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Mother Dolores Purnell McGowan and Father Robert McGowan. A rosary will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 12 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton, Oregon. A celebration of life will follow at 1 p.m. at Santiam Golf Club @ 8724 Golf Club Rd. S.E., Aumsville, Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services.
