Thomas Frank Pereira was born August 24, 1948, in Tulare, California, to Manuel and Lorraine “Lori” (Paige) Pereira. The family relocated to Washington where Thomas graduated from Snohomish High School before enlisting in the US Air Force. He served during the Vietnam War and was crew chief on a C130 aircraft serving from 1969-1979. Thomas married Nancy Lurvey on July 28, 1969, in Washington. After he was honorably discharged in 1979, he returned to the Pacific Northwest and worked as a computer trainer, instructor, and service tech. Thomas worked for Tektronix, ADEC, then Forest Dental. Thomas was a family man, devoted to his wife and a loving and attentive father and grandfather. He had many interests including wood working, mid-century items, and home projects. He loved tools and gadgets and planned many projects, some taking a little longer than others to complete. Thomas was also an avid reader and had a vast collection of books. He was also a member of American Legion Post 104. On June 28, 2021, Thomas passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind including his beloved wife, Nancy; children Shon (Bridget) Pereira and Michelle (Corey) Smith; grandchildren Michael Parker, Mitchell Pereira, Jordan Pereira, Aran Smith, Cody Smith, and Camryn Smith; great-grandchildren Chase Pereira, Hayden Pereira due in September, and Baby Boy Parker due in January; and siblings Loni and Ken. A special thank you to Nancy’s sisters Pam and Barbara for all their love and support for Nancy and Thomas over the past few years. Words cannot thank you enough for everything you two have done to assist the family.
