Terry Elizabeth Harwood

October 7, 1952 — November 28, 2022

Terry Elizabeth Harwood, 70, passed away suddenly on November 28th, 2022, in her home. Terry was born to Neva Clarke and Jack Harwood in Salem. She spent most of her life in Salem while spending some time in Jefferson and California. She attended Four Corners Elementary School, Parrish Junior High, and North Salem High School. She worked as a caretaker at Fairview.

Terry cherished family and friends. She adored flowers, cats, and drawing. In her earlier years, she enjoyed fishing. She was a talented artist and spent time taking pictures of the things she was passionate about.

She is survived by her only daughter, Cyndy Woodruff. Her siblings: Cynthia Etzel, Brent Harwood, and Lori Naro; her many nieces and nephews. Her beloved grandchildren: John, Dustin, Charlotte, and Misty. Her four great-grandchildren and one more on the way. She joined her mother, Neva, who she loved deeply.

Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her daughter and grandchildren. She always looked forward to seeing them and would light up when they would visit. She had an unbreakable bond with her brother, Brent, and they would speak on the phone often, laughing the whole time.

Her longtime friend, Teri Gallagher, was always there for her and Terry would often speak fondly of her and their experiences since becoming friends in junior high. Her sister, Cynthia, was her primary support and friend for the later years of her life. Cynthia said, “The thing I miss the most about Terry is how much excitement and joy she would get when a flower would bloom.” Her favorite flower in her garden was the gift her niece, Coralyn, gave to memorialize her kitty Ziggy that Terry affectionately named her "Coralyn Rose.”

Terry was full of love and enjoyed laughing with her friends and family. She was the one who stayed in contact with all of the family members in other states and would check in with them regularly. She always gave the best compliments and hugs. She will be remembered fondly by the ones who knew her warmth and kindness. “Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.”
