It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Talana Lewallen, who departed from this world on February 14, 2024, in Portland, Oregon. Talana was born on January 20, 1999, in Eugene, Oregon, to her parents Vanessa Brown and Jeffrey Mitchell. She spent her formative years in Eugene, attending Lane County schools. She lived in Eugene until 2012 when she relocated to Salem. For the last four years of her life, she resided in the Portland/Vancouver area.
Talana found joy and fulfillment in many facets of her life. First and foremost were her children, and later when she was united in marriage to Craig Lewallen.
A woman of many talents and passions, Talana had a flair for crafting, particularly knitting, where she expressed her creativity and skill. Her culinary expertise extended to the kitchen, where she delighted in cooking and experimenting with her own unique recipes.
Talana was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Vanessa Brown.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, survived by her devoted husband, Craig; children, Raymond, Noah, Micah, James and Brooklynn; her father, Jeffrey Mitchell, and stepmother, Stephanie Mitchell, along with her siblings, Makada, Davana, Joelle, Brayden, Chayton, Drew, and Riana. In addition to her immediate family, Talana is survived by her great grandma, Connie; grandparents Lynn Lockard, Diana, and Gaylon Grosche, as well as her aunts Lisa and Melissa, uncles Matt and Tim, and a host of other relatives, including numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Talana's absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and kind heart will be cherished in our memories forever.
A celebration of Talana's life will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1pm at Weddle Funeral Service, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and find solace in each other's company.
May she rest in peace, and may her spirit continue to live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her presence.
