Steven W. Troyer was born on December 20, 1943, in Sacramento, California to Wayne and Mildred (Watson) Troyer, he was the third born out of six children. He would live in California until after high school when he briefly joined the Air Force, he would go on to marry his first wife, Velois Kellogg. They would have 3 children, Vivian, Earl, and Cindy. He and Velois would divorce and later, Steven would marry Ruth Ann Van Den Broeke on November 29, 1968, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were blessed with Three additional children, Robert, Patty and Laurie. They would live in San Bernardino, until moving to Stayton, Oregon. Steven would have a 40-year career truck driving and would move mobile homes and work for Phillips Industry. Eventually, they would move to Fairbanks, Alaska where he would work for the Alaska State Highway Maintenance Department, living there from 1974-1978 before permanently settling in Sublimity, Oregon in 1979. Once back in Oregon, Steven would work as an Owner Operator long-haul truck driver, starting with Parker Refrigeration. He would eventually open his own operation until his truck burned down in 2002. He would conclude his career working at Gordon Trucking until his retirement in 2013. Steven was a member of the Moose Lodge in Alaska starting in 1974 and most recently with the Stayton Chapter.  Active with HAMM radio and enjoyed fishing, family gatherings and taking an annual Thanksgiving trip with his family to the coast. Steven passed away on November 6, 2021, at age 77 in Roseburg, Oregon after a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vivian, siblings, Evelyn, Wes, Marion, and Ellen in addition to his parents. Steven is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Troyer; children, Earl Troyer, Cindy (Chris) Vest, Robert Troyer, Patty (Jason) Hasche, Laurie (Del) Toepfer; 7 grandchildren, Nicole, Candace, Dakota, Alexandra, Andrew, Haley, Makenna; 6 great grandchildren, Nadine, Orion, Luna, Theodore, Aidan, Jaxson in addition to his sister, Doris Troyer.
