Stephen Wayne Smith

Stayton - Stephen Wayne Smith was born September 19, 1953 in Anchorage, Alaska. He passed away at home on January 14, 2022 in Stayton, Oregon. Stephen was the second of three children born to Donald and Dora Jean Smith. He was a graduate of Lindsay High School class of 1971. He graduated from Pacific Christian College in 1976. There he met Judith Compton, whom he married in June 1974. After college, Stephen lived in California, Oregon, and Indiana. During their time in Oregon, Stephen and Judith had their two children. They later divorced in 1985. Stephen was a minister at Scio Christian Church. He also worked in printing for several different companies over the course of his career. At the time of his death, he lived in Stayton, Oregon, where he lived from 2016-2022. He was a member of Scio Christian Church, and enjoyed serving on the worship team. Stephen Wayne Smith was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sharon Sue and his parents. Stephen is survived by his daughter Erin (husband Jared) Ramlal of Gig Harbor, Washington, son Nathan Smith (wife Kimberly) of Hillsboro, Oregon, and sister Barbara Keeton (husband Dave) of Syracuse, Kansas. He is also survived by five grandchildren. The Celebration of Life is open to all.
