Stephen Haddix

Stephen Jerome Haddix passed away surrounded by family on August 20th, 2023 after a 16 month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Steve was born on September 18th, 1957 in Portland, OR to Eugene and Yvonne (Hagen) Haddix who resided in Damascus, OR. Steve attended Oregon State University for his Bachelor’s in Agricultural Engineering. He joined the Corvallis Fire Department during school as an EMT/firefighter, thus sparking his passion later in life for sustainable fire solutions. He later moved to Bend, OR where he met his wife of 25 years and had two very loved children. He and his family eventually moved to Turner, OR where he supported them with a startup business in the wildland firefighting industry. He spent his last five years in Silverton, OR.

Steve was known to be devout in his Catholic faith, constantly giving to the church and to others in need without a second thought. He was an entrepreneur, always bringing his ideas to life. Steve made friends everywhere he went. He loved his family more than anything and always knew how to make a gathering special with an abundance of home cooked food.

Steve is survived by his children, Seth Haddix and Danielle (Darren) Kuenzi, as well as his ex-wife and friend Michele Haddix and his sister Suzanne Haddix.

He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Yvonne (Hagen) Haddix.

A funeral mass will be held in Steve’s memory at 11am on Friday, September 8th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Angel, OR.
