Shawn Lee Carter Jones, born on October 13, 1964, in Roseville, California, to Robert and Donna Carter, passed away on January 1, 2024, in Salem, Oregon. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, partner, and friend who touched the lives of those around her.

Shawn is survived by her children, Meagan Stephenson (Dan) and Ryan McPheeters (Rebecca), and her cherished grandchildren, Evolet, Robert, Leon, and Roman. She was a devoted sister to Tracy Houser, Chris Carter, and Raquel O’Connor. She shared a special bond with her partner, Patrick T. Austin, and their loyal dog, Jasmine. Shawn was preceded in death by her mother, Donna.

Shawn loved spending time with friends and family, always ready with a laugh or a comforting word. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She had a knack for lifting spirits with her bright smile and never missed her kids' sports games, often being the loudest voice in the crowd cheering on her kids and grandkids.

A competitive spirit, Shawn loved playing pool and horseshoes, participating in several leagues. She also enjoyed playing cards, dice, and board games, always ready for a friendly challenge. Her love for cooking was evident, especially when she made cinnamon rolls with her kids from her grandmother's treasured recipe book.

Shawn's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
