Sharon Ann Arnold passed away on February 2, 2022, in Salem, Oregon after several years of health struggles. Sharon was born on April 26, 1943, in Eastland, Texas to Leon Pauline (Coventon) Hembree. Growing up with her baby sister and two brothers, Sharon would attend Kermit High School in Kermit, Texas where she met her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Doyle Wayne Arnold. They married on September 30, 1961, in Kermit. They would start a family and were blessed with two daughters, LaDonna Michelle and Regina Kaye. They would move from West Texas to San Leandro, California in 1963. Sharon would work as a bus driver for AC Transit in the East Bay for many years until retirement in 2000 when she moved to Oregon. She could finally enjoy a more relaxed life and in her later years, Sharon fell in love with traveling. With neighbors she would go to Pakistan, and later would go to Germany where she would visit her former exchange student, Heidi. Sharon would take her husband and daughters to Europe and travel for 6 weeks in two cars driving all over and sightseeing. She would also go to Vietnam with her acrylic nail lady where she got make up tattooed on. A few days after she came home, her 3 lb., chihuahua “Baby” got ahold of a sleeping pill. She called the emergency vet and told them she was coming in and why. Shortly after they took Baby back to check her out, mom said, “why are they so mean to me?” and I looked at her and said “Mom, they think you’re so vain that you put on a full face of make up before you brought her in!!!” It’s the downside of having a perfect face all the time!! Sharon loved to get dressed up and always tried to look her best. Sharon would also go to Pakistan with her neighbors and travel there as well. She loved crafts, sewing, art, collecting antique dishes and glass. But her heart was all about her animals, Sharon loved her chihuahuas, cats and goats. Her pets were her life and she passed that love of animals on to her daughters. Sharon lived an incredibly full life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Wayne Arnold and her siblings, Donald Hambree and Lonnie Hambree; She is survived by her baby sister, Linda Rose Sullins; daughters, LaDonna Michelle Arnold and Regina Kaye Arnold; and her grandchild, Donavon Wayne Arnold. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 5:30 PM-8:00 PM at Weddle Funeral Service in Stayton.
