Shannon Ray Wilcox was born on May 22, 1942, in Sacramento, California to Olin “Kenny” and Vida (Lynch) Wilcox. Shannon would grow up with 5 siblings: Andy, Aloha, Erma and Teri. He would graduate from Monroe High School in 1961 and would join the United States Army shortly after. Shannon would enter the Vietnam War and through his honorable and faithful service, earned a Vietnam Service Medal and Parachute Badge. Shannon would meet the love of his life, Marlene Gustafson. They were neighbors in Eugene where Shannon lived at the time. They would marry on February 21, 1997 and spend 25 beautiful years together. Throughout his life, Shannon was dedicated to the Lord and would spend many years as a Pastor, spreading the word of Christ. He would tell everyone he knew about Jesus and encourage them to ask Jesus into their heart. Besides sharing the gospel, he would also do construction work and would even use those gifts to help build the Monroe United Pentecostal Church. Shannon was passionate about doing whatever he could to spread the love of Jesus in his community. On January 21, 2022, in Lebanon, Oregon Jesus called Shannon to his eternal heavenly home to join his family members, his father, Olin “Kenny” Wilcox, stepmother, Maxine Wilcox; mother, Vida Gose; Siblings, Aloha and Erna; and brother-in-law, Al Starr. He is survived by his wife, Marlene K. Wilcox; daughters, Tammy (Jay) Weaver, Debbie Lewis and his son, Shane Stokes; grandchildren, Hannah (Angel) Weaver, Levi and Devon, Alex and Josie; siblings, Andy and Teri and Erma. A service will be held at Salem Tabernacle on February 5, 2022 at 11am.
