Sandra Kay “Ruggles” Coleman passed away on June 11 th , 2022 with her husband and daughters at her side. She was born in Turner, Oregon to Henry and Dorothy Ruggles. She spent her youth between Turner and Sweet Home, where she stayed with her loving aunt and uncle Cleo and Alice Chance.
In 1956 she graduated from Cascade High School and also started her family when she married the love of her life Kenneth Ray Coleman, they were married for 66 years. Together they raised their daughters, Valerie Dawn (Tom Drews), Lisa Ann (Mike Owings), Brenda Leigh (Steve Namitz) and Tobie Lynn (Paul Sloan).
Sandra worked for Stayton Canning/Norpac Foods for almost 40 years retiring in 1998 as assistant Plant Manager. At retirement, Kenneth and Sandra moved from Turner to LaPine and then settled in Prineville, Oregon. They actively raised black Angus Cattle under the ranch name of KC Angus, and Sandra was an active member of the Western States Angus Auxiliary helping out at the shows and sales.
Her passion however was art, she loved oil painting, sketching, photography and taking classes with her friends. She also loved gardening, antiques, and spending quality time with her 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was the big sis to her 5 brothers and 4 younger sisters, as well as Kenneth’s 5 brothers and sister.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Dorothy, aunt and uncle Alice and Cleo, and her siblings, Aileen, Lester, Terry and Johnny Ruggles and brother in law Bill Coleman.
She was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to either Hospice- Partners in Care of Bend or the Western States Auxiliary Scholarship program.
