Ruth Evelyn Schlener, born on March 29, 1955, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, was a beacon of love, creativity, and unwavering support to all who knew her. The daughter of Germaine Keller and Theodore Mumbauer, Jr., Ruth's journey on this earth concluded on June 13, 2024, in Junction City, Oregon.
Ruth's early years were spent in the heart of Pennsylvania. She graduated from William Allen High School in 1973. In 2007, she made a bold move to Sweet Home, Oregon, bringing with her the warmth and traditions of her Pennsylvanian roots.
A devoted mother, Ruth was blessed with two children, Michael and Amanda, whom she cherished deeply. Her love for family extended beyond her immediate kin, as she embraced every opportunity to bring joy to those around her through her beautiful crochet creations and diverse crafts. Her handiwork, always crafted with love, became treasured pieces among family and friends.
Ruth's spirit was characterized by her fierce loyalty and readiness to help others. Whether it was offering a helping hand or a kind word, she was a steadfast friend and confidante. She found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life: the companionship of her significant other, Monte, the laughter shared with family and friends, and her dogs, Sushi and Sport, brought her comfort and happiness.
Preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and her brother, Gary Mumbauer, Ruth's memory continues to live on in the hearts of those she left behind. She is survived by her loving significant other, Monte Gerard; her devoted children, Michael Halliday of Jacksonville, FL, and Amanda (Frank) Snyder of Catasauqua, PA; and her cherished grandchildren, Mason, Samantha, John, Matthew, Shane, Andrew, and Cameron. Ruth also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Delilah, and Olive. Her siblings, Robbin (Malcolm) Halliday, Debbie Hilbert, Roger Mumbauer, and Rick Mumbauer.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations to breast cancer research would be greatly appreciated, continuing Ruth's spirit of giving and helping others.
