Russell Leo Mikolas, a man of generous spirit and loving heart, passed away on July 17, 2023, in Portland, Oregon. Born on December 5, 1958, in San Joaquin, California, Russell was a beacon of joy and laughter, always ready with a joke and a helping hand.
Russell was the beloved son of Arlene Marie Rocha and Leo Mikolas. He shared his childhood with his brothers Allan, Dale, and Doug, creating a bond that remained strong throughout their lives. They would later relocate to Oregon where he would remain the rest of his life. He would graduate from Scio High School and shortly after marry Jenise Hatfield on July 28, 1977 in Stayton, Oregon. Russell and Jenise were blessed with three children, Amber Marie Mikolas, Patricia Ann Mikolas, and Roger Mikolas.
Russell was a man of immense generosity. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His sweet and loving nature touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met. Russell loved listening to 70's classic rock and his infectious laughter and his signature phrase, "you know what I mean?" will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In his life, Russell Leo Mikolas was a beacon of love and generosity, he would have given the shirt off his back to help anyone who needed it. In his passing, he leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and kindness. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Arlene Marie Rocha and Leo Mikolas; siblings, Allan Mikolas and Dale Mikolas. He is survived by his children, Amber Marie Mikolas, Patricia Ann Mikolas, Roger Mikolas; brother, Doug Mikolas; grandchildren, Jenise Campos, Koa Ku, Zachary Ku, Sofia Scott.
His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us of the importance of love, generosity, and a good joke.
