Roy L. Lockrem

September 4, 1925 – May 5, 2011 Lyons- Roy left us to join our Lord, Jesus Christ while surrounded by family.  He was born in Tacoma, WA.  He joined the Navy and served during WWII.  He married Nell Johnson on June 21, 1945 and shared 60 years of marriage.  She preceded him in death May 15, 2006.  After his service to his country he settled his family in the Santiam Canyon and he spent most of his working years as a logger.  He and Nell demonstrated their love to their family by being actively involved with them and as grandchildren came along they helped raise them.  Life’s purpose was taught by their Godly example.  Hunting, fishing and tending to his vegetable garden and fruitful prune tree filled his life with enjoyment.  He will be remembered as the best husband, father, friend and neighbor who was generous to all.  Children; Bev (Denny) Bassett, Terry (Rita) Lockrem, Cindy (Randy) Shinn, sisters; Elenor Stokes, June Norvell, ten Grandchildren; thirty six Great Grandchildren, six Great Great Grandchildren will forever keep him in their hearts.
