Roselee Julie Stephenson, born October 4, 1934, peacefully passed away on March 6th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Her departure leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew her, yet her memory will forever be cherished. Born in the heart of Portland, Oregon, Roselee was the cherished daughter of Fred and Katherine Gurtina, with her sister Clarita by her side. Music resonated deeply within her family, shaping her early years as she embraced the melodies of life. Roselee credited her parents for her love of music, as they sang together while her dad played guitar, creating a harmonious backdrop to her childhood. Raised in the embrace of Catholic schools, Roselee discovered her passion for music, mastering the piano at a tender age.
On January 17th, 1953, Roselee married Kenneth Stephenson and they were blessed with five beautiful children - Dennis, Julie, Michael, Kathy, and Fred. Her devotion to her children knew no bounds; they were the beating heart of her existence, intertwined with her unwavering faith in Jesus. She radiated love and pride as she attended their events, always offering boundless support and encouragement.
Later in life, Roselee was remarried for a short period of time, to Ted Pileggi. A songbird from her youth, Roselee's angelic voice graced the halls of churches and choirs from the tender age of 17. Later in life, she joined the Stayton Festival Chorale, where she shared her heavenly gift with the world. Beyond her musical talents, Roselee found joy in teaching piano to students of all ages, nurturing budding talents and igniting passions. Her hobbies included tennis, singing, dancing, and playing piano. Her home became a sanctuary for generations of family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Roselee's warm embrace extended to all who crossed her path; she was a beacon of kindness, a gentle soul who made everyone feel valued and loved.
In her passing, Roselee leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith. Though she may have departed this world, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in eternal peace, dear Roselee, for your light will forever guide us through the darkness.
