Rose Anne Benally was born on August 15, 1943 in Ganado, Arizona to Edward and Louise (Foster) Benally. She grew up in Flagstaff and was a member of the Navajo Nation. Growing up, Rose would learn the traditional language of the Navajo. Eventually, she would move to Oregon and meet her husband, Edward Kuschnick. They married on April 23, 1964 and had two children, Richard and Rodney. Rose would work for 35 years at Salem Hospital as a surgical technician, she was a dedicated and extremely hard worker. The last four years she lived with her adopted granddaughter’s family and enjoyed spending time with their children, taking trips to the beach and casino. Rose watched crime and western tv shows and one of the things she loved the most was drinking her coffee each day. Rose had an incredible sense of humor and considering all that she endured in her life kept a postivie outlook. Rose passed away at age 77 in Marion Estates in Sublimity, Oregon on August 3, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward and son, Richard. Rose is survived by several extended family members and close friends who loved her dearly.
