Rose Ann McGrory Nesler was born in Lebanon, Oregon on June 23,1945. She was the fourth of nine children born to Patrick E and Thelma P McGrory. Rose grew up on a farm with her siblings and went to Crowfoot Grade School, Seven Oak Middle School, Lebanon High School, and Chemeketa Community College.
After high school Rose worked at Salem Memorial Hospital. She received a scholarship from the hospital and obtained her LPN degree at Chemeketa Community College in 1965.
Rose then continued to pursue her RN degree while working as an LPN. In the early 1970s she was selected to help set up the first Critical Care Unit at Salem Memorial Hospital. She continued to work in the CCU for the remainder of her career during which she also was a traveling nurse to various states. Due to disabling medical issues, Rose had to retire from nursing in 1992.
While working in Reno, Nevada she met and married Ronald Nesler in 1984. They had one daughter, Amy, born in 1986.
Rose was preceded in death by her father Patrick Edward, her mother Thelma, brothers Richard and Patrick. Rose is survived by her daughter Amy Nesler Wilson, son in-law Dustin Wilson; Step Grandson Dakota; sister-in-law Bea McGrory; siblings Kathleen Forrester (Robert), Malachy McGrory (Sue), James McGrory (Marilyn), Kevin McGrory (Yanti), Brendan McGrory (Erna), and Bridget McGrory (Fred Kecherson) as well as several nieces and nephews.
