Rosamund De Leon Violan

Scio- Rosamund De Leon Violan was born on March 17, 1935 in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Philippines to Pantaleon and Albina (Puzon) De Leon. She grew up and lived most of her life in the Philippines, and went on to get her Bachelor Degree.  She would meet Armando Desamero Violan and the two would marry on November 6, 1958 in Davao City, Philippines. While in the Philippines, Rosamund worked as a revenue collector at the City Treasures Office. Rosamund moved to the United States to join Celi, her daughter in 1987 while her husband stayed in the Philippines with their other children.  She lived in Alaska where she worked as a cook and then to Texas and then finally to Oregon to be with her daughter. Family was very important to Rosamund and even though hers was big and spread out, she made sure to be involved and stay up on their lives. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and doing crafts. On November 21, 2020 Rosamund passed away in Scio, Oregon. She was preceded in passing by her husband Armando; parents, Pantaleon and Albina; and siblings, Manuel, Beatrice, Erriquetta, Isabel and Feliz. She is survived by her children, Celi, Armun, Ariel, Armando Jr., Arle, Arnel, and Agnus; and grandchildren, Race, Andrew, Rainier, Louis, Virmun, Gena, Rosa, Basil, Brian, Lanie Rose, Lealy, Roman, Maxinne, Nico, Nate and Neil. “I learned how to be a mom from you. You were a fantastic mom.  I know not everyone can say that about their mothers.  I was so lucky to have mama; you were awesome, loving, giving and kind. Now that I am an adult I understand how great you were. I learned to give to others and be generous by watching you and part of me died when you left me and my brothers. My heart broke into pieces the day you said goodbye, though I know that you’re in a much better place now. I love you so very much, mama. Your one and only daughter who you always called “Atcheli” ever since I was a little girl.” I was lucky to have you mama!
