Rosa Ann Dyer

September 1, 1951 — March 27, 2022

Rosa Ann Dyer was born on September 1, 1951, to parents Elnora and Walter E. Dyer in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. She would move to California and eventually find her ultimate home in Oregon. Rosa attended art school to follow her passion for art. Rosa was not a studious person but was talented in all Art Forms and was an Art History savant. Rosa would wonder at the beauty of creation and the Stars with her Father and the works of the Grandmasters. Rosa funded her life and her children’s lives with her quilting and textiles she learned and made with her mother and close friends. Rosa started her working career after graduation from secretarial school and began a lifelong career as an executive assistant and corporate strategist. Leveraging her talents, she would teach sewing and art to the next generation of artists and late in life make bespoke textiles for boutiques and teach local art courses. Rosa would finish her working life as a secretary at First Church of God in Albany.

Rosa’s focus was always being the best mother she could be. Rosa was blessed with two sons, James, and Walter, “Eli”. That then grew to their spouses Vanessa and Vincent. Rosa’s love and care grew and extended to her chosen family. When not busy taking care of her family and working, in her free time Rosa enjoyed sewing, painting, and reading. But of it all, Rose was a woman of faith by all definitions. Her humor, honesty and ‘hippie’ spirit revealed her love for our heavenly father and His love for others. It was with those characteristics that she faithfully served as secretary for 3 years at Albany First Church of God. A position that allowed her to speak wisdom to and encourage healing for, not only the church staff and congregation, but the youth and students that frequently spent time on church grounds. She found her confidence in the Holy Spirit and through friendship and mentorship. She emboldened those around her to listen and trust the Lord. People did not know Rosa without feeling seen and valued for whoever and wherever they were in life.

On March 27, 2022, at age 70, she would pass away in Albany, Oregon. Rosa is preceded in death by her father, Walter E. Dyer and brother, Donald Dyer. She is survived by her mother, Elnora; sons, James Snyder and Walter Dyer; Daughter-in-Law Vanessa and Son-in-Law Vincent, and her siblings, Russell, Lewis, Gary.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers or visits to her final resting place, donations be made to Fairview Cemetery located in Gates, Oregon as this was one of Rosa’s final requests.
