STAYTON – Ronald E. Query passed away on Sunday the 13th at Stayton.  He was 90 years old. He was born in Corning, Iowa, the third of three children to Ralph and Mamie Query.  Ronald worked on the family farm and attended school in Iowa.  He graduated from Cumberland High School in 1938.  He attended Aircraft sheet metal school in Omaha and moved to California where he worked as an aircraft sheet metal worker.  He enlisted in the US Army Air Force and served as a Sergeant during WWII in the Pacific Theater.  He then enrolled at Cal Aero Technical Institute in Los Angeles and earned his FFA license in Aircraft Maintenance.  He was married to Deane Zook on September 5, 1947 in Glendale and they made their home in Glendale before moving to Panorama City.  For 36 years he practiced his aircraft repair trade. Family life was centered on their 3 daughters and the whole family was active in the Church.  Ron retired in 1986 and he devoted more time to the church and traveling all over the US and cruises to Tahiti, Hawaii and the Caribbean.  Their daughter, Diane preceded them in death in 2002. They moved to Sublimity in 2005 and attended the United Methodist Church in Stayton.  Ron was very active in work projects for the church and his family was everything to him.  He is survived by his wife, Deane, daughters; Janet (Jim) Thomas, Debra (Lance) Haverkamp, 3 grandchildren; Sarah, Jeff and Eric Funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 18th at 2:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in Stayton. Military honors will be held on Monday Nov. 21st at 2:00 pm at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church building maintenance fund. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, OR.
