Roman Betancourt was born on August 10, 1957 in Michoacan, Mexico to Jose and Abigail (Villa) Betancourt. On August 10, 1982 Roman would marry Maria Socorro Fajardo in Michoacan, Mexico. This union would make 37 wonderful years of marriage and the blessing of three children, Abigail, Doralee, and Maria. The two would eventually move to Silverton, Oregon where he would reside until his passing. Roman would work in many different areas to support his family including owning a Restaurant which he operated with the help of his wife and children. Family was very important to Roman and he was blessed with a big one. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing or just simply being around family. On February 10, 2020 Roman passed away in Silverton, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Abigail. He is survived by his loving wife Maria; children, Abigail, Doralee, and Maria; grandchildren, Miguel, Fabian, Julian, Hugo, Joel, Isabelle, Lilian and Elias; and siblings, Clemente, Francisco, Hermila and Juan Bruno whom he loved like a brother. A public visitation will take place on Thursday, February 13th from 4-6 PM at Weddle Funeral Service in Stayton followed by The Recitation of Rosary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be February 14th at 11 AM at St. Paul Parish in Silverton followed by internment at St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery in Woodburn.
