Rodney Allen Rosenow

June 10, 1947 October 2, 2011 Stayton, Oregon  Rodney was born in Bertha, Minnesota to Roland and Henrietta Rosenow.  He came to Oregon as a young man and  joining the Navy. He served in Vietnam and was discharged after serving four years.   He met Carol Dixon and they married on May 12, 1979.  His passion for the Military beckoned him to join the U.S. Army in 1979 and he served as a Police Officer.  His  career took him on several tours during Desert Storm.  He retired as a Staff Sargeant in 1995.   Briefly, Rod worked for Marion County Sheriffs Department.  Camping, four wheeling  where his hobbies and in his early years, fishing and hunting brought him relaxation.  As a member of the VFW Post 56 38 he served as Commander 2009 2010. He is survived by his Wife; Carol, daughter; Sara (Jason) Short of Eugene, son; Christopher Rosenow of Salem,   A graveside service with military honors was held at Willamette National Cemetery, on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 9:30 A.M.
