Robin Cary Noakes, born on May 13, 1961, in Canby, Oregon, to Sherry Riebhoff and Tom Noakes, passed away on October 13, 2024 in Aumsville, Oregon. Growing up in Canby, Robin was an active participant in track and field, cross country, and basketball during his time at Canby High School, showcasing his athletic spirit and dedication.


Robin's career journey was a testament to his versatile nature. He worked in various roles, including as a cook at Nona Amelia's, a grave digger for The Oddfellows Cemetery, and a licensed CNA. His wide-ranging skills made him a true jack of all trades. His service in the US Navy as the primary chef for the admiral on the USS Midway was a significant chapter in his life, where his culinary talents were appreciated and celebrated.


Robin was deeply involved in Wasco County's Search and Rescue Team, a role he held with great pride. He often spoke of the rescues he participated in, and his search and rescue helmet and patches were among his most treasured possessions.


In his personal life, Robin enjoyed fishing, jewelry making, cooking and baking, yard-sailing, gardening, and antiquing. These hobbies reflected his zest for life and his appreciation for both creativity and the great outdoors.


Robin is survived by his children, Jaydn Noakes, Jill Noakes, and Tia Mantel, who carry forward his legacy. He is also survived by his siblings, Travis Noakes and Holly Wymore, and his step-siblings, Ken Ness, Kim Ness, Jennifer Rhoades, Cindy Plouf, and Leslie Smith.


Robin's life will be celebrated in the spring of 2025, honoring his memory and the impact he had on those who knew and loved him.
