Robert Neal Sandstrum

Robert Neal Sandstrum, a beloved husband, father, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023 in Salem, Oregon. He was born on November 3, 1936, in Bremerton, Washington, to Lola Holloway and Edgar Sandstrum.

Robert was a devoted husband to the late Jean Follman, whom he married on February 14, 1968, in California. Their bond endured until her passing in 2008, leaving behind cherished memories of a loving partnership. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Matt and Michelle, who were the pride and joy of his life.

As a home builder, Robert displayed craftsmanship and skill, leaving behind a legacy of beautifully constructed homes that stand as a testament to his dedication and passion for his work. His commitment to excellence was evident in every project he undertook.

Robert also served honorably in the Air Force, embodying a sense of duty and patriotism that defined his character. His service was marked by bravery and dedication to his country.

His love for adventure led him to embrace various hobbies, including his passion for driving cars and motorcycles, exploring the great outdoors through hiking, and finding solace in his faith in Jesus Christ.

Robert's memory lives on through his son Matt and the many lives he touched.

A memorial service to celebrate Robert's life will be held at People's Church, 4500 Lancaster Dr. NE, Salem, OR 97305, on Saturday, December 9th, at 2 PM. It will be a time to honor and remember a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
