Robert “Bob” Malone was born on November 27, 1948 in Portland, Oregon to Joseph and Madeline (Loury) Malone. He was raised on a small farm in Silverton by his father and mother who instilled the gentle caring manners he carried with him throughout his life. Bob started his career as a truck driver and after falling asleep at the wheel and almost causing an accident he discovered that working with his hands was more of his calling. He did home repair, construction and remodeling while living and working on the farm in Stayton. After he retired due to poor health. He started taking classes at Chemeketa to become a consultant and when his health would not allow he fully retired and that is when he met Billie together they enjoyed a simple life filled with mutual respect, love and adoration for each other. Bob had 2 service stations back in the late 70's and early 80's and he had developed quite the ability to build a car and motor that the owner would be proud to drive. He always had a love of building be it a motor or a house he was up for the challenge, and welcomed the new knowledge he gained. Working on cars which were also very much a hobby. Bob was truly a jack of all trades. On February 22nd 2015 he married Billie Carpenter and they were together for a total of about 10 years, building a relationship on common interests in building and in mechanical trades. Together in 2016 they opened a small automotive repair shop but never really did produce a lot sometimes if any income, but it gave Bob a purpose and allowed him to continue to do not only what he loved but it gave him the opportunity to mentor and pass on his knowledge to a lucky few that had the opportunity.   Bob was good friend to many, and often the first person they would call no matter what the problem. He was a quiet man who would rather listen than to tell many stories about his life but everyone that knew him agreed he was a good, kind and knowledgeable man. He was often the very first person someone would call when they had a problem whether it was in Automotive, a problem with a home , or just with life, he could listen and make you feel like everything was going to be okay. Robert was preceded in death they both of his parents and went to be with our Lord on October 26, 2019 at age 70. He is survived by his wife, Billie Carpenter; children, Joseph Malone, Dedee Macknair, Gregory Malone; 7 grandchildren in addition to his close friends of 26 years Wanda shackman, (Cash) and Ethan Thompson.
