Robert John Mckenna

Robert John McKenna, born on November 17, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, led a distinguished and fulfilling life marked by dedication to education, community, and family. He was the beloved son of Ethel Gertrude McKenna and Harold McKenna and grew up alongside his brother, Harold McKenna Jr.


In his youth, Robert's commitment to personal development was evident through his achievements in the Boy Scouts, where he earned both the Eagle Scout rank and the God and Country award. These early accomplishments set the stage for a lifelong dedication to learning and service.

On July 20, 1973, Robert married the love of his life, Carol Pope, in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. Their union was one of deep affection and partnership, lasting many years.


Robert's interests were diverse and reflected his curiosity and love for life. He enjoyed reading, researching, cooking, and trading stocks. He also had a deep love for travel. His intellectual pursuits and culinary skills were matched by his generosity and willingness to share his knowledge and experiences with others.


Robert was a wonderful friend and partner, known for his warmth and his desire to help others succeed. His legacy is one of knowledge, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Harold, and his brother, Harold Jr. Memorial contributions in Robert's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, a cause close to his heart.
