Robert Earl Trusty was born on March 25, 1955 in Fort City Arkansas to Elmer and Martha (Wesch) Trusty. At a young age his family moved to California where he would grow up and attend high school. Robert was a very hard worker, once he graduated high school he would take jobs clearing fire trails, plowing fields and driving dump trucks. He would work for McDonald’s Golden State Foods and eventually would move to Scio, Oregon in the late 70’s. He began a career working for Freres Lumber driving truck. Known by his trucking handle of “Cozmo”, Robert was a loyal and dedicated employee working until his body no longer allowed. He gave Freres lumber 37 years of service.Besides work, Robert loved fabricating hot rods. He had his own but due to his generous nature it was not uncommon for him to help someone before himself. He was incredibly meticulous when it came to building his vehicles, always researching and having extreme knowledge on the subject. He was handy when it came to home projects and Robert’s mentality was “Do it right from the beginning”. Robert enjoyed guns, hunting, fishing, race cars and his ’55 Cameo. He had lots of hobbies that kept him busy but he also enjoyed learning new things all the time.He was known for always having a tape measure in his pocket, a pen and pad available to take his notes; and he loved his In-N-Out cheeseburgers since he grew up to the original one in California. Robert was dedicated to the Stover family. Although he never had children of his own their children became his children and grand kids. He would do anything for his family. You always knew where you stood with him and he always told it like it was. On November 25, 2020 Robert passed away in Corvallis, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his brothers, Jim “Wayne” (Debbie) Trusty and David (Kim) Stover, Sr. in addition to multiple nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
