Robert Bob Dale Wright

Robert (Bob) Dale Wright was born May 30, 1937 in French Camp, near Stockton, California. He grew up in the Lebanon and Sodaville area in Oregon. Bob worked as a logger, truck driver and heavy equipment operator and was a hard worker in whatever he did. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and hunting and fishing. He really liked getting out on the water to fish with his friends. In his later years he spent a lot of time with his friend, Neldon Marker, fishing, visiting and sharing life together. Bob often said that Neldon was the son he never had. Bob will be remembered for his outgoing and fun-loving personality, always having a smile on his face. Once people met him, they always became his friend. In the late 1990’s, Bob received Christ into his life, and began participating in weekly Bible studies with his pastor, Roger Pedersen, and friend Ron Kendall. Bob shared the bond of Christian brotherhood with people from various congregations where he learned to love God’s people and be loved in return. He grew in the grace and knowledge of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bob enjoyed the fellowship in Christ in his last years with the brothers and sisters at the Stayton Seventh Day Adventist Church. Bob was a friend with a servant’s heart, having ministered on behalf of many of you.  He also was on the receiving end of your love, and never forgot your kindness openly displayed toward him. May the Lord be praised, and may we each one prepare our hearts to finish strong in our walk with the Lord and each other.  His grace is sufficient for you!! Bob was pre-deceased by his mother, Ilene Crane; step-father, Chuck Crane; his brother, Henry Lukinbeal and niece, Robin Banks. Bob passed away with his sister, Maggie, and friends gathered about him. He is survived by his sisters, Maggie Hamlin of Lincoln City, Oregon; Dotty Lawry, of Clarkson, Washington; brother Ed Crane of Fairview, Oregon; and friend Neldon Marker, of Lyons, Oregon; plus nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date at the Stayton Seventh Day Adventist Church, 610 Fern Ridge Road, Stayton, Oregon.
