Oct. 5, 1928 – Nov. 5, 2011 Robert (Bob) Mathews was born October 5, 1928 in Guernsey, Wyoming to Jennie and Charles Mathews the youngest and last survivor of eight children. He graduated from Guernsey High School and served four years in the United States Navy. He then attended Laramie Univ. in Laramie, Wyoming. He later moved to Casper, WY to work in the oil industry. In Casper he met Ann Stella Kucera and the two were married on December 23, 1955. They moved to Kimball, NE where Bob operated an oil rig servicing company until their move to Aumsville, OR in August 1972, working as lease agent for McKinney Lincoln Mercury. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was a Master Mason, 32nd degree Freemason and member of the American Legion. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ann; daughter, Roberta (Gary) Potter of Terrebonne, OR; son, Robert (Barbara) of Carlton, OR; and four grandchildren, Adam, Heather, Chad and Seth. After a long and courageous ten year battle with lung disease his family wishes him peace in his journey with the Lord. Honoring his request there will be no services.
