Richard “Rick” Lee Frohreich, 78, of Stayton, Oregon, passed away on February 16, 2025. He was born on December 14, 1946, to Dale and Betty Frohreich and spent his early years in Oregon, graduating from Corvallis High School before earning his Associate’s degree from Linn-Benton Community College.
Rick proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a member of Delta Company from 1969 to 1970. For his service, he was awarded both the Army Commendation Medal and the Bronze Star Medal.
On January 25, 1987, Rick married the love of his life, Judith Mason, in Stayton, Oregon, where they built a life together for 38 years. He worked in retail before happily transitioning to self-employment, working alongside Judith.
Rick was a dedicated family man and a proud father to Kristin Burell and Dylan Mason, and a loving grandfather to Violet Burell and Elena Mason. He was also a cherished brother to Larry Frohreich and Judy C. Frohreich.
A man of strong convictions and a kind heart, Rick was a proud member of the Democratic Party, the Humane Society, and the National Wildlife Association. He found joy in many hobbies, including classic cars, gardening, home remodeling, eating cookies, and caring for animals. His quick wit and warm spirit brought laughter to those around him, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Betty Frohreich, and his brother, Bobby Frohreich.
In honor of Rick’s memory, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Rick will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
