Richard Edgar Johnson

Richard Edgar Johnson, born on July 24, 1926, in the city of Portland, Oregon, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024. Richard was born to Edgar and Mildred Johnson.

On August 25, 1950, Richard exchanged vows with his beloved wife, Shirlee Marie Agerup, setting the stage for a lifetime of shared dreams and enduring commitment. Together, they welcomed four children into their loving home: Marty Allen, Judy Hosea, Paige Johnson, and Tyler Billings.

A graduate of Washington State University, Richard earned an Engineering Degree, symbolizing his dedication to knowledge and mastery. His professional path led him to Howard S Wright Construction, where he left an indelible mark.

The canvas of Richard's life spanned across Federal Way, WA, Princeville in Kauai, Anchorage in Alaska, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Sublimity, Oregon. A veteran of the Army, he exemplified courage and honor in service to his country during WWII.

Richard's heart belonged to his family, finding joy in their company during gatherings, camping escapades, and shared moments watching a cherished pastime with his daughter Paige.

Renowned for his infectious sense of humor, Richard had a gift for weaving tales and sharing jokes that brought laughter to those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through his children: Marty, Judy, Paige, and Tyler, and his grandchildren: Megan Des Jardins, Zach Baker, Courtney Seim, Barrett Seim, Lisa Forbes, Brad McLain, Joe McLain, Ashley Valdez, and Kyle Billings.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirlee. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a testament to Richard's compassionate soul.
