Richard “Dick” L. Myers May 25, 1941 – June 19, 2015 Scio, Oregon Dick was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Louis & Monica Myers. The family moved to Oregon in 1942. He graduated from Serra Catholic High School in 1959. He married Carol Bynum in 1963 and they had two children, Richard and Mary. After Carol’s death he married Brenda Studer in 1973 and they had two more children, Paul and Sara. Dick worked at the Oregon State Library for 30 years before retiring. He then worked for Wilco Farm Store in Stayton for several years before spending the last 15 years working for Coastal Farm in Albany. Dick enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and growing a garden every year. He channeled his love of animals into the dog show world where he and Brenda raised and showed Black and Tan Coonhounds. Dick is survived by his children Rich (Karen) Myers, Mary Kriner, Paul (Jennifer) Myers, and Sara Pennell; his sisters JoAnn (Larry) Bynum, Patricia (Curt) Lee, and Elizabeth Harsh; his brother Michael Myers; and many grandchildren. A memorial service is being held on June 29, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Scio Christian Church. The family requests donations be made in Dick’s name to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, Oregon
