Rex Allen Lucas

Rex A. Lucas was born on July 24, 1936, in Stayton, OR and died June 27, 2024 in Aumsville, OR. Rex was the youngest son of Alfred Lucas and Essie Blodgett Lucas, and he had 7 siblings.

Rex served in the Oregon National Guard and then the U.S. Marine Corp. After leaving the service he became a building contractor and land developer and served as the President of the Marion-Polk County Homebuilders Association for 1968-69 and 1969-70 years and worked up until he died.

He was also a volunteer firefighter for Aumsville Rural Fire District for 22 years.

He was a co-founder of the Cougar Foundation for Cascade School District and served for many years and worked with the Restoration Committee for the Elsinore Theater.

He is predeceased by his parents and siblings, and survived by his wife, Karen Lucas, and children, Della Seney (Steve), Mark Lucas (Melissa), Darla Hampton (Joe), Michael Lucas, Donna Berning (Brett), and Dianne Lucas. He is also survived by Linda Doran who has been part of the family for 56 years. He has 14 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 5 step great-grandchildren.

Services will be on July 20, 2024, at 1:30 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, 645 Cleveland Street, Aumsville, OR.
