Raymond Shooby Allen

Raymond Shooby Allen was born March 29, 1936 in Corona, California to Coy Cecil Allen and Edna L. Massey. Raymond had 3 brothers and 1 sister, so there was always someone to spend time with. Raymond joined the Air Force in 1955 and remained in the Air Force for 7 years. On April 25, 1956 Raymond married the love of his life Judith, in a Lutheran Church in Corona, California. Raymond and Judith moved to Scio, Oregon in 1974 and spent the next 47 years there. Together they raised 4 children: Debbie, Randy, Diana, and Doreen. Over their 65 years of marriage, Raymond and Judy were able to watch their children, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren grow into the amazing people they are today. Raymond was a member of the American Legion and NRA. He enjoyed fishing, mostly bass, hunting, and gardening. Raymond loved playing his banjo with family and friends and taught them all the love of music. His family would describe him as a real outdoorsy kind of guy with a spunky attitude and eccentric sense of humor. On June 16, 2021 Raymond Shooby Allen passed away at home surround by his loving family. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family. There will be a Graveside Service in his honor on July 9, 2021 at Noon, at Franklin Butte Cemetery.
