Raymond Franklin Lyles was called home to the lord on December 11th, 2021. Raymond was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1941. He made his way to Oregon working in the bean fields. This is where he met his first love, Peggy. Raymond and Peggy were married until her death. If you asked people who Raymond was, they would all give different answers. He was different things to different people. Some would say he was a loving husband, the best father, best grandpa, teacher, music lover, stubborn yet gentle, and a believer in God. His love for music started early on. He played in family bands in his youth. Later he would play guitar and sing with his boys in “jam” sessions, where they would mess around for hours. He taught his children many lessons in life. Raymond had many jobs throughout his life. There was not much he couldn’t fix or repair. He retired from Agrapac in 1999. Raymond was lost and lonely after the death of his first wife. We were all excited when he met and fell in love with Sharon Cummings (Lyles). They were married and devoted to one another until his passing. He was preceded in death by his first wife Peggy. Survived by his loving wife Sharon, his six children: Marty (Carla), Donnie (Cindy), Melissa (Ron), Becky (Fred), Jill (Jay), and LoriAnn (Chris), and his grandchildren: Vern, Michelle, Maggi, Christopher, Breanna, Jaylene, Nicholas, and Zachary. May God's promise found in John 6:40 of the hope to see our loved ones again, comfort your heart, and give you peace, strength, and hope in the days ahead. Go with God Raymond, may we meet again.
