Ramona "Mona" Rumplik

April 29, 1961 — May 14, 2023

Ramona "Mona" Rumplik, a kind, loving, and friendly soul, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2023, in Stayton, Oregon. Born on April 29, 1961, in Salem, Oregon, to Marianne Lee Harvey and Curtis Ray Keys, Mona lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of family and friends.

Mona was the beloved sister of Renee Sizemore (Keys), Raymond Curtis Keys, Ruth Ann Keys, and Richard Keys. She was a devoted mother to her son, Robert, and cherished her role as a grandmother to Gaige Rumplik and step-grandchildren, Wyatt Hooper and Anna Hooper.

Mona attended Jefferson High School and later made her home in Lyons, Oregon, for 25 years before spending her last five years in Gates, Oregon. As the owner and operator of Canyon Espresso in Gates, Mona was known for her warm smile and friendly demeanor, making her a beloved figure in the community.

A lover of nature and beauty, Mona eagerly awaited the arrival of spring each year, when she could plant her flowers and create her stunning hanging baskets. Her love for life was evident in her appreciation for the simple pleasures, such as the vibrant colors of her garden and the laughter of her grandchildren.

In 2004, Mona received the gift of life in the form of a kidney transplant from her niece Ruthie. She was forever grateful for this second chance and never took a single day for granted. As a testament to her strength and resilience, Mona embraced her role as a mother and grandmother with unwavering love and dedication. Being a mother to Bobby was her greatest accomplishment, and she felt truly blessed to be a grandma.

Mona's kindness, love, and friendliness will be remembered by all who knew her. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Mona's heart was truly a source of beauty and love, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

In celebrating Mona's life, we remember not only the challenges she faced but also the joy and love she brought to those around her. Her legacy of kindness, love, and friendship will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Mona is survived by her son Robert (Cynthee) Rumplik; sisters, Renee and Ruth; nieces, Rosa Carbaugh (Flores), Ruthie Flores, Amy Flores, Crystal Johnson (Flores); nephew, Marlo Flores; 4 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brothers Raymond and Richard Keys.
