Phyllis LaVerne Muise February 1, 1932 October 11, 2016 Mill City, Oregon Phyllis LaVerne Muise passed away the evening of Tuesday, October 11, 2016, surrounded by family, following her six-year battle with Alzheimer’s. Phyllis was born to Florence Timm (Slater) and William Timm in Mill City, Oregon, on February 1, 1932, living in Mill City her entire life with the exception of the last six years where she resided in a Salem memory care facility. She graduated from Mill City High School in 1950 and married her high school sweetheart, Ollie Muise, on August 25, 1950. Phyllis and Ollie raised four children. She was a mother, wife and homemaker first, but maintained the books for O.M. Contracting for many years. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Al Ward Logging, retiring in 1997 after 20 years. Phyllis enjoyed camping, playing Bunco and Yahtzee, crocheting, knitting and reading. Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother and father, the love of her life and husband of 50 years, and her younger sister Beverly Weathers. She is survived by son Alan (Jeannette) Muise of Redmond and daughters Sharon Beard of LaPine, Oregon; Denise (Steven) Hall of Mill City; and Janice (Chris) Williams of Naples, Florida; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care Mom received during the past five years at the Harmony House of Salem memory care facility and thank the staff for making her stay as homey and caring as possible. Contributions can be made to Mill City Fire Department, Fairview Cemetery, or the Alzheimer’s Association of Oregon. Viewing to be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Weddle Funeral Chapel from 2pm-5pm. funeral Service to be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Mill City Christian Church in Mill City, Oregon at 1pm. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gates, Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services.
