Peggy was the cherished daughter of the late David and Margaret Romanick. She was the loving sister to Paul, Rodney, Rita, Bradford, Patrick, and the late Timothy. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured those relationships with care and affection. Above all, she was a devoted mother to her daughter, Shelby Johnson, and a doting grandmother to Allison, Maddox, and Exodus. Her family remembers her as a pillar of strength and a beacon of love and kindness.
Peggy received her education from Regis High School, graduating in the class of 1974. She carried the lessons learned and friendships formed during those formative years throughout her life. She was known for her tenacity and dedication, traits that translated well into her professional life.
For 39 years, Peggy served the Stayton community with dedication and commitment through her work at the Stayton Cooperative Telephone Co. She started her career in 1974 and remained a loyal employee until her retirement in 2013. Her colleagues remember her as a diligent worker with a cheerful demeanor who was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her work was more than a job; it was a way to contribute to her community, a purpose she carried out with unwavering dedication.
In addition to her commitment to her family and career, Peggy had a passion for sports. She played semi-pro and co-ed softball until she was 32 years old, demonstrating her competitive spirit and love for teamwork. Her love for the game extended beyond the field as she was an avid sports fan, always cheering on her favorite teams.
Peggy's life was marked by her unwavering strength, her infectious laughter, and her unyielding love for her family. She was a woman of grace and resilience, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
