Pearl Marie Tucker was born on June 3, 1938 in Salem, Oregon to William and Agnes Comber (Murphy). She was the youngest of 4 children; As an infant Pearl’s father passed away and her mother, Agnes would raise her four children solely on her own. Her home was open for all of her children’s friends and meals were always ready. Pearl herself took on many of her mother’s characteristics, she was independent, talented, hardworking a wonderful cook. Agnes would later move to Salem so Pearl could attend cosmetology school where she met her husband, Hasten (Jack) Tucker. Pearl received her cosmetology license then her & Jack were part owners of The Academy of Hair Design in Salem. She and Jack also started and owned Family Hair Care Center and Tucker Inn, all very successful businesses. Besides being a business owner, Pearl’s most important job was that of a mother to her children, Troy, Carmen, Cindy and granddaughter Misty. Her children were the center of her world and a family get together typically included a wonderful meal Pearl & Jack created. Pearl and Jack later divorced but always maintained a friendship. After being a hairstylist and helping to run businesses, Pearl accepted a job cooking for the Oregon State Senate Lounge. Later, she moved to California where she would become a personal chef. Her cooking skills, hard work & amazing personality allowed her to succeed for several years with her clients. Not only was she the perfect mother, grandmother and cook, Pearl was an exceptional friend. She was the one that always reached out to help people cook, clean, organize or whatever needed to be done. She maintained life long friendships and attended all her high school reunions. She enjoyed hosting "business meetings" on her porch in California, which meant red wine & laughs. She was the type of person who everyone enjoyed being around and every relationship she created was important to her. Throughout her illness, she received many loving cards, letters, thoughts and prayers.
